Major in Distributed Systems

Home - Major in Distributed Systems - Labs - Open Position

The Dept. of Computer Science and the Institute for Pervasive Computing invite students to join the M.S. program in Computer Science "Major in Distributed Systems."

Program Tracks

The major in distributed systems offers two tracks: systems and algorithms. For both tracks, the main prerequesite is the completion of the Distributed Systems course. In both tracks, students must complete 3 courses out of the 6 listed Fokusfaecher, one seminar out of the three offered, and the Master Thesis within the area of Distributed Systems. In addition, students must complete (there are no requirements regarding the minor beyond those imposed by the Department):
Systems track: a Labor (Practical Project, 10 Credits).
Algorithms track: two Vertiefungsvorlesungen out of the three listed below.

Joining the Program

The major in distributed systems has been designed for studens in their 7th Semester in WS 02/03 or younger. It can also be followed by any student who will not graduate before WS 03/04. These students must complete the lectures indicated above to obtain a M.S. in Computer Science with a major in Distributed Systems.

For all students
Please contact a mentor (Prof. G. Alonso, Prof. F. Mattern,
Prof. T. Roscoe, or Prof. R. Wattenhofer (ITET)) to discuss your study plan.
You must have a mentor to participate in the program.
